As a parent at the school you are automatically a member of POW and we also warmly welcome grandparents, carers, former parents and friends to get involved in our events.

POW is looking to become an integral part of the school community with an aim to raising money to be spent on equipment, resources and subsidising trips and events to enhance our children's educational experience.

POW is about much more than fundraising. POW is looking to provide closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school.

All parents and members of the school community are encouraged to get involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available. We are looking to run a huge range of events from the big money raisers to the 'just for fun'. Favourites include discos, cinema evenings, cake sales, second uniform sales, the not to be missed quiz night and of course our hugely successful summer fete- something for everyone to get involved in.

We are also keen to help the school tap into the wealth of families talents, if for example you are a gardener, photographer, graphic designer or have an interesting job that you could talk to the children about, we would love to hear from you.

What is POW?

POW is a group of helpful parents whose rle is to encourage closer links between home and school. whilst fundraising work will be key for the role of POW, they also aim to provide a useful social function too. Fundraising events provide an opportunity for parents, pupils and staff to get together.

What does the money get spent on?

ALL the money raised by POW goes back to school, We will try to make sure that the money is used for the benefit of all the children at the school such as new books, new ict equipment, some of the playground equipment, museum visits and after-school activities.

Why do we do this?

It is important to realise that without the assistance that the POW is aiming to provide, the school would have to sacrifice funding from other budget areas to make these options possible for our children, or worse, not offer these things at all!

How can I get involved?

Come along to the next POW meeting and just listen, then if you feel up to volunteering for something, you can start small. Another way to help is to simply COME ALONG AND SUPPORT OUR EVENTS!!

For more information or get involved then contact one of our parent governors Hayley Kemp or Beverley Davies.

We would LOVE to hear from you!!
